"Nigerian SOS" Email Scam Alert
Late Sunday night, August 3rd, Stephannie found heself locked out of her personal email account. When she tried to reset the password, google informed her the account had been deleted.
Apparently, the hijackers changed the password, transfered her addressbook to a new account, then deleted the old one.
The critical thing right now is to find out if the SMWfund2008@gmail.com is also sending out emails. The folks who are monitoring that email have also been locked out of that account... but according to google, it hasn't been deleted.
Luckily, there was very little in that email account that could be considered "vital" to Mike's case, which is still ongoing.
Stephannie can only apologize to those who've been inconvenienced, needlessly concerned and shocked by the "Nigerian SOS" email. If you have a minute or two to spare, please report those emails to google's phishing link at: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=abuse_phishing .
Again~ Stephannie is not in Nigeria, She is still in South Korea and still teaching.
Thank you for your understanding and please be kind. |
